Chinese Democracy Is Here! Hell Freezes Over!
According to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS, GUNS N’ ROSES’ long-awaited new album, “Chinese Democracy” (Geffen/Interscope) finally has a release date. The CD will hit all Best Buy stores, where it is an exclusive, on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving, November 23, giving it a full seven days on sale before entering the chart on December 2. Best Buy’s sales week runs from Sunday through Saturday night.
GUNS manager Andy Gould reportedly told 900 Best Buy employees at “vendor convention” held by Best Buy last month in Dallas that a new GN’R song called “If The World” will play under the closing credits of “Body of Lies”, the new film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe due out on October 10. That news was confirmed online at film web sites whose representatives had attended a press screening of the flick. “If The World” will not appear on the film’s soundtrack album.
“If The World” features the guitar work of Robin Finck and Buckethead, who have both since departed GUNS N’ ROSES.
Another new GN’R song, called “Shackler’s Revenge”, appears on the Rock Band 2 video game.
“Chinese Democracy” has been more than 13 years in the making, with every original member of GUNS N’ ROSES except for frontman Axl Rose long since gone from the lineup.

Biden Their Time Looking Palin The Face
So now that the much anticipated Vice Presidential debate is over a scan of the cable news channels reveals the usual partisan post debate spin one would expect regarding Sarah Palin’s performance - from MSNBC reluctantly admitting Sarah Palin didn’t have a campaign ending stumble & managed to hold her own, for the most part, to Fox news practically masturbating over what a skilled debater Sarah Palin is and how she owned the debate obliterating Joe Biden.
Yeah right.
Both camps accomplished their goal - Joe Biden spoke respectfully, managed to not have any major off the cuff gaffes and stuck to hammering John McCain. Sarah Palin displayed some knowledge of the issues and was able to hold her own against the vastly superior experience of Joe Biden and took some shots at Barack Obama.
After watching the debate, reading the day after analysis and cable news scrutiny of the candidates’ performances here are my Top 10 words or phrases that best describe last night’s debate:
10. exceeded unprecedented low expectations
9. avoid the question whenever possible
8. parrot
7. get all your talking points in no matter what
6. regurgitation
5. non-confrontational
4. did i mention stick to the talking points?
3. non game changer
2. boring
1. irrelevant
In the end neither candidate significantly hurt or helped their ticket. The election is still about Obama and McCain and nothing took place during the debate that will have anyone talking about much past today.
If you had to pick 1 word or phrase that best described or summed up the debate - what would it be?
